Area Coordinators: Are recommended as a liaison between  the block captains and watch coordinator, due to the size of our community, and should be directly involved with the block captains they support.   Responsibilities would include: Participating on the Neighborhood  Watch Committee to determine communication strategy, implementation of program improvements and assist with annual Neighborhood Watch meetings Recruiting and establishing a list of block captains they support by compiling  and maintaining a current  list of names, addresses, and telephone numbers Obtaining their block captains list of block participants and submitting updates to the watch coordinator on a monthly basis Participating in Neighborhood Watch meetings and training Block Captains: Are recommended for every 10 - 15 houses, and they should be directly involved with their immediate neighbors. Responsibilities would include: Acting as a liaison between block residents and the area coordinator Establishing a 'telephone chain' or 'email chain' by compiling and distributing a current list of names, addresses, and telephone number of block participants Maintaining the current list of block participants and submitting updates to the area coordinator on a monthly basis Visiting and inviting new residents to join' and notifying them of meeting and training sessions Contacting each neighbor,  as time permits, to discuss possible crime problems, needs for assistance, and suggestions for program improvement.
